On this planet, we have an 'XY Sex-Determination System'. This system is found in all humans, most other mammals, some insects, some snakes, and some plants. In this system, the sex of an individual is determined by a pair of sex chromosomes. Females have two of the same kind of sex chromosome (XX) and are called the homogametic sex. Males have two different kinds of sex chromosomes (XY) and are called the heterogametic sex.
It is, therefore, a statement of fact that any humanoid male or female (i.e. man or woman) that believes that they are the opposite gender remains their original gender, despite their belief. It does not matter whether or not the person ingests hormones, removes or attempts to add appendages or has Twitter, Facebook and Google defending them. They are what they are.
What these people are is an unfortunate micro-minority who suffer from a medical condition associated with mental illness. The UK National Health Service (NHS) describes the "condition" as follows (Source):
Gender Dysphoria is a condition where a person experiences discomfort or distress because there's a mismatch between their biological sex and gender identity.
Compare Gender Dysphoria with Gender Nonconformity, which is not the same thing. The American Psychiatric Association states that "gender nonconformity is not in itself a mental disorder. The critical element of Gender Dysphoria is the presence of clinically significant distress associated with the condition." In other words, Gender Nonconformity is a decision or a choice.
It is estimated that about 0.005% to 0.014% of people assigned male at birth and 0.002% to 0.003% of people assigned female at birth would be diagnosed with Gender Dysphoria.
A couple of days ago I added a comment to a post retweeted by @michaeljknowles, who is not suffering from Gender Dysphoria. Neither is he wanting to nonconform. The original video message was relating to a very young person being enabled by their mother in a way that has been described as child abuse.
My comment was sent to Michael Knowles. He isn't suffering from the condition of Gender Dysphoria. Twitter says that my post violated their Hateful Conduct rule. Employees of that company acted to control my speech with Michael Knowles in case someone else objected, or more likely the result of some objection. That is the very definition of censorship. Twitter and other tech companies are enabling behaviour and forcing the rest of society to accept behaviour that is damaging and dangerous to society.
What I posted was and remains a statement of fact that concludes with my opinion that anyone who enables people who suffer from a mental illness should be ashamed of themselves. It is akin to taunting an alcoholic with a drink.
Shame on Twitter. Shame on the person at Twitter who wrongly thought that they had a right to control my speech.
