On behalf of the Government of the United States of America, I congratulate the Federated States of Micronesia on the 33rd anniversary of your independence on November 3.
The United States and the Federated States of Micronesia have a long friendship based on a shared vision of a free and open Indo-Pacific. To achieve this vision, we have worked together to promote regional stability and enhance economic development. I was honored to be the first Secretary of State to visit the Federated States of Micronesia in August this year. Your country is a stronghold of freedom and has enjoyed a special relationship with the U.S. since gaining independence. We appreciate the service and sacrifice of the many citizens of the Federated States of Micronesia who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Our commitment to a strong partnership with the Federated States of Micronesia will continue for years to come.
