Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo met with Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek today in Munich. Secretary Pompeo and Foreign Minister Petricek discussed a shared commitment to a peace process in Afghanistan and de-escalation of tensions in the Middle East. Secretary Pompeo called attention to the rising regional threats posed by the People’s Republic of China and praised the Czech Republic for its leading role in 5G security. The Secretary thanked the Foreign Minister for the Czech Republic’s commitment to military modernization.
