Secretary Michael R. Pompeo spoke with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov today. The Secretary and Prime Minister reaffirmed the strength of the U.S.-Bulgaria strategic relationship and discussed ways to advance the partnership. Secretary Pompeo applauded Bulgaria’s commitment to military modernization, including the recent purchase of eight F-16s. They also spoke about the importance of energy diversification and countering malign influence in the region.
