National award-winning renowned actress of Bangla Cinema of Bangladesh Sarah Begum Kabori passed away in Dhaka. She has diagnosed with COVID19 and admitted to Kurmitola General Hospital. Later shifted to the ICU of Sheikh Russel National Gastro-Liver Institute and Hospital.
Sarah Begum knew as ‘Mishti Meye’ (Sweet Girl) of Bangla cinema. She started her acting carrier at the age of 13 and her first film was Sutorang. She acted in more than 100 films. For the film Sareng Bou, she has been awarded National Film Award for Best Actress.
She was elected as a member of parliament from the Narayanganj-4 constituency in 2008 and served till 2014. She was an active participant in the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971 and the first woman broadcast of Radio India during the war.
