Five Cases of Omicron Detected in India


First Omicron case detected in the national capital. A patient who returned from Tanzania is admitted to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital.


Total five cases of new COVID variant Omicron detected in India so far. Apart from Delhi two patients from Karnataka and one each from Gujarat and Maharashtra. All the patients have mild symptoms.


Though the Omicron variant of the novel coronavirus has a higher transmissibility rate but symptoms caused by are mild. In South Africa, no one infected from this variant has been put on oxygen. It has no fatality rate so far.
