2nd Shahi Snan of Mahakumbh begins in Haridwar of Uttarakhand on the occasion of Somwati Amavasya today 12th January 2021.
The procession of 13 akharas is going on through highways. First Shahi Snan was held on 11th March 2021 on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri.
A large number of devotees assembled to take the holy dip Ganga river at Hari Ki Pauri and other ghats difficult for local administration to ensure social distancing norms. Local administration continuously appealing for following appropriate behavior as per guidelines issued for COVID 19 epidemy.
The general public was allowed to take a holy dip before 7.00 AM. Now the area is reserved for akharas. 1333 new cases of COVID 19 were reported in Uttarakhand last Sunday. The total number of cases reached around 108812. In which active cases are 7323.
