We congratulate Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth on his election. The United States looks forward to working with the Prime Minister on shared goals of improving maritime security and increasing bilateral trade. Total two-way goods trade between our nations totaled over $450 million in 2018, a 30 percent increase from the previous year. With Prime Minister Jugnauth’s help, the United States is confident that our two nations can grow our economic relationship further in the years to come.
