Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs David Schenker will travel to France and Italy November 18-22. In Paris, Assistant Secretary Schenker will meet with officials from France and the United Kingdom to discuss recent developments in the Middle East. In Italy, the Assistant Secretary will participate in meetings with Multinational Force and Observers members in addition to bilateral meetings with Italian officials to discuss the conflict in Libya. During his trip, the Assistant Secretary will emphasize the United States’ support for working together with its allies and partners to promote peace and stability in the Middle East.
