Acting Assistant Secretary of State Carol Thompson O’Connell Travel to Geneva

From December 16-18, Acting Assistant Secretary Carol Thompson O’Connell will travel to Geneva, Switzerland to join the U.S. delegation for the Global Refugee Forum hosted by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).  The U.S. delegation is led by Ambassador Andrew Bremberg, and USAID Deputy Assistant Administrator Julie Cram will also join the delegation.


Acting Assistant Secretary of State O’Connell will speak about America’s leadership in humanitarian assistance and diplomacy as it relates to gender-based violence, education, and early childhood development in crisis situations.  She will also underscore U.S. government priorities and leadership at events in support of regional refugee responses.
