25 Deaths and Several Injured in land sliding in Mumbai


More than 25 deaths and several others were injured in three separate incidents of landslide and wall collapse.


Several areas of Mumbai flooded after heavy overnight rains. PMO announced rupees two lakh relief from PMNRF to the next of kin of those who lost their lives due to wall collapse in Mumbai and rupees 50000 will be given to those who were injured.


The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Mumbai in the backdrop of heavy rains. Heavy rainfall reminded Mumbaikars of the 24-hour rainfall figure of 944 mm on July 26, 2005.


Heavy waterlogging caused disruption of suburban train services and vehicular traffic in the financial capital.
